Nassau has two mega-resorts that dominate every conversation about things to do: Atlantis Paradise Island and Baha Mar. Both have water parks, beaches, casinos, and day passes for non-hotel guests. Water parks: Aquaventure vs Baha Bay

Aquaventure at Atlantis is one of the largest water parks in the Western Hemisphere. 141 acres, 40+ slides, a mile-long lazy river, 11 pools, and the Mayan Temple complex with its iconic Leap of Faith. If you love water parks and want maximum quantity and variety, Aquaventure wins — there is simply more of everything.

Baha Bay at Baha Mar is smaller but newer. It opened in 2021 and everything is in better condition. The slide design is more modern, the theming is cleaner, and the crowds are noticeably smaller on most days. For families with children who can reach 48 inches, Baha Bay offers a less overwhelming experience with shorter queues.

Baha Mar is consistently cheaper for day passes — typically $30–$50 less per adult than Atlantis. For a family of four, that difference can reach $120–$200.

Which resort is better — for whom?

The honest take

If you have never been to either resort, go to Atlantis first. It is a genuinely unique place — the Marine Habitat alone justifies a visit, and Aquaventure at scale is impressive in a way photos do not fully capture. If you have already done Atlantis, or if price is your primary concern, Baha Mar gives you a very good day for less money with shorter lines.

Neither resort is necessary to have a great day in Nassau. A private boat tour to Pig Beach and snorkel spots costs less than a single Atlantis day pass per person and reaches places neither resort can match. It is worth knowing that option exists before you book.
