I'm going to be completely honest: hurricane season in Nassau has real risks, real advantages, and some months are genuinely a bad idea while others are excellent value. Read this before you book.

The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June 1 through November 30, with peak statistical activity in August, September, and October. But "hurricane season" does not mean "certain hurricane" — in many years Nassau passes the entire period without a significant event.

For budget-conscious travelers and those with flexibility, June and November in particular offer exceptional value.
What Summer Weather Is Actually Like
Nassau in summer is hot and humid — temperatures reach 90–95°F (32–35°C) with high humidity that makes it feel hotter. The afternoons regularly bring brief tropical showers that last 20–40 minutes and then pass. These are not the same as hurricanes — they're daily weather patterns and don't ruin beach days if you plan around them (mornings are usually clearest).
The ocean in summer is at its warmest — around 84°F (29°C) — and visibility is good. Many locals consider July and early August ideal for snorkeling and diving before the peak storm period begins in late August. Most of the time, the weather on any given summer day is "partly cloudy with afternoon showers," not "stormy and dangerous."
